the year in feet

While others are wrapping up their 2010's with eloquent reflections on the year gone by, I realized yesterday that I took an inordinate number of photos of my shoes.  And that was before I even knew what "bench monday" was on Flickr.  They're in my header, on my business cards and now - just for you - they're here.

It was as I was uploading this somewhat strange photo yesterday for Picture Winter (my last seasonal project with Tracey Clark...  see Picture Spring, Summer and Fall.) and trying to figure out how to categorize it that I noticed how both my feet and sometimes my family's feet have become a feature.  I snapped this as I was sitting in a café waiting for a friend yesterday morning, too bleary-eyed to read the newspaper in front of me, but instead focusing on the warm reflection in a chair.

I started it off last spring with that shot in my header, sitting on the grass soaking in our first warm sunshine, and went from there.....
